All the events are put on by volunteers with the administrative support of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center. We have many veteran Longboard Luau volunteers in addition to guidance from our Executive Committee, composed of past event chairs.

Join a Committee:

We always need new ideas and have a variety of committees from marketing to catering and entertainment. Look at the committee list and let us know what fits you.

Reach out to the Community:

Help us spread the word about the Luau and raise cancer awareness by sharing your enthusiasm for the good work performed by UCSD Moores Cancer Center with the community. If you are energetic, innovative and creative, this is the perfect opportunity for you to channel you passion for cancer research and reach out to the public.

Volunteer on Event Day:

July 11, 2010: Survivor Beach: Volunteer to help coordinate our World Record attempt for the longest chain of surf boards lined up head to tail at Scripps Beach. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate traffic, sell merchandise, carry surfboards and provide cancer awareness information.

August 22nd, 2010: The Longboard Luau: Because this is our main event, there are a myriad of exciting opportunities for volunteers at all experience levels. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate traffic, sell merchandise, work registration booths and market auction tickets. People are also needed to help set-up and take down the event. Please contact us for more information.
