All the events are put on by volunteers with the administrative support of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center. We have many veteran Longboard Luau volunteers in addition to guidance from our Executive Committee, composed of past event chairs.

We always need new ideas and have a variety of committees from marketing to catering and entertainment. Look at the committee list and let us know what fits you.

Volunteer on Event Day:

June 10th, 2012: Survivor Beach: Volunteer to help coordinate our World Record attempt for the longest chain of surf boards lined up head to tail at Scripps Beach. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate traffic, sell merchandise, carry surfboards and provide cancer awareness information.

August 19th, 2012: The Longboard Luau: Because this is our main event, there are a myriad of exciting opportunities for volunteers at all experience levels. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate traffic, sell merchandise, work registration booths and market auction tickets. People are also needed to help set-up and take down the event.

If there is not a current volunteer opportunity that matches your interest or skills, contact us.  We want to hear from you!

Thank you to our 2008-2012 Luau & Longboard Invitational’s title sponsor, Pfizer La Jolla.
